Welcome

to the National Graphene Research and Development Center! We are a research institution focusing mainly on the carbon-based material, graphene.

Our mission is to speed up the application of the magic material graphene, and as such, our research focuses on the design of graphene-based spintronics and photovoltaic energy materials.

The Nobel Prize in Physics for 2010 was awarded "for groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene." Graphene is a mono-atomic layer of carbon in a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice. The discovery of graphene has generated great interest in the physics and engineering society due to its unique electrical properties. Materials like this may replace conventional silicon in integrated circuits, providing faster speed, more memory and lower power operation at nanoscale dimensions.
